The incumbent leads projects from concept to evaluation, manages the project team, ensures proper documentation, represents client interests, and advises on project governance and technical matters.

 

Job Overview:

The incumbent will have the responsibility to guide the development of projects from conceptualization to evaluation phase and ensure requisite documentations are prepared.  He/she will provide leadership to the Project Team and advise the Team on project governance and represent the Client’s interest. Additionally, the incumbent will represent the Corporation and Department at external and internal meetings and adequately converse on technical matters relating to the project(s). 

 

 

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering,  
  • Architecture, and/or relevant construction related field
  • Project Management qualification from a recognized institution 
  • Certificate or Diploma – would be an asset
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the administration of multi-disciplinary projects specifically construction related projects
  • Training in Project Management from an accepted and accredited institution
  • Sound knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques
  • Demonstrable proficiency in the advanced use of the Microsoft Project or related project management software application
  • Working knowledge of other relevant computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Sound knowledge of financial management principles and techniques
  • General knowledge of the UDC’s products, systems and procedures

 

Required Skills and Specialized Techniques

  • Proven ability to manage multi projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms 
  • Sound human relations skills and proven ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team 
  • Leadership skills
