We are seeking an experienced Relationship Officer to join our growing team and drive the expansion of the Bank's presence within the corporate segment.

 

Position Overview:

The Relationship Officer, Eleuthera Branch, will be an integral part of the branch’s retail sales team, committed to driving the branch’s overall success by meeting customer needs and achieving personal sales goals and team objectives. This role focuses on identifying and fulfilling customer needs while contributing to the branch’s financial goals through effective sales activities and excellent customer service. The successful candidate will achieve success by meeting negotiated personal sales and activity goals, collaborating with the team to enhance customer experience, and demonstrating a strong commitment to professional development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the relationship manager for assigned portfolios, enhancing account value by marketing bank products and services while managing the loan portfolio effectively and addressing client needs.
  • Interview loan applicants, verify financial and non-financial information, assess credit risk using credit scores, and make recommendations for personal, mortgage, consumer loans, credit cards, and overdraft facilities.
  • Prepare accurate credit proposals and submit them in alignment with the Bank's Credit Policy Guide (CPG).
  • Execute and manage all loan-related documentation, including commitment letters, promissory notes, salary deduction forms, and insurance forms, ensuring compliance with bank policies.
  • Identify customer financial needs, present tailored solutions, and develop long-term relationships by providing exceptional service and addressing queries effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, verifying and documenting customer information, monitoring account activity, and ensuring the confidentiality of bank and customer records.
  • Manage past-due accounts (1-15 days) by reviewing reports, contacting customers, processing payments, and collaborating with the Collections department to reduce delinquency risks.
  • Provide customers with sound investment advice based on their financial goals, objectives, and risk tolerance.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports, such as account statistics for overdraft renewals, and ensure all required documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor and report unusual account activity or fraudulent behaviour, adhering to the Bank’s Anti-Money Laundering Guidelines and internal security procedures.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associates degree, or institute of financial services certificate, or three (3) to five (5) years of banking experience.
  • Working knowledge of land and properties act to confirm mortgages are prepared correctly by attorneys.
  • Correspondence, interact with associates, and communicate the bank’s policies and services.
  • Oral and written communication skills to conduct interviews with clients, converse with attorneys, prepare
  • Working knowledge of computers to use bank network and its core banking applications, to access client accounts, amortize loans, prepare correspondence (e.g. MS word) and reports, (e.g. MS excel), and to respond to email.
  • Accounting skills to calculate loan ratios and analyze financial statements.
  • Knowledge of bank services to address customer inquiries and cross-sell bank products and to perform routine follow-up on past due loans.
  • In-depth knowledge of specific bank policies and procedures in the areas of credit and collections to evaluate loan risk.
