The incumbent manages the Stores Unit’s operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, logistics coordination, record-keeping, asset tracking, and collaboration across divisions to meet organizational goals.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

The position has overall responsibility for the management of the Stores and inventories required for projects executed by the ICT Authority as well as for running daily operations. The incumbent is also responsible for carrying out stock/inventory audits ensuring that the Inventory Management Software is updated at all times.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the overall operations of the Stores Unit.
  • Develops and implements strategies to ensure the efficient and effective management and administration of the Unit.
  • Assesses and informs Manager, Administration of operational progress, risks, major setbacks, resource constraints and significant deviations from agreed objectives/targets/actions.
  • Collaborates on critical activities with other Divisions to ensure the achievement of pre-determined goals.
  • Ensures efficient coordination of logistics for in-house inventory and new arrivals.
  • Ensures that all necessary Stores tools and equipment are in place and working effectively.
  • Verifies that all goods received have a valid purchase order.
  • Ensures that inventory is secured in keeping with approved procedures.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of distribution records system, ensuring that files are effectively organized and maintained.
  • Updates Asset Database.
  • Conducts general stock count.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or relevant field from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience in a supervisory position.
  • Certificate in Supervisory Management.
  • Experience in supervising staff and delegating tasks effectively.

  • Ability to research and gather information.
