We are looking for a highly inquisitive, empathetic, and driven co-pilot to help build and scale SUMI LLC. This is a highly unconventional, work-from-home role where you will live and work closely with the business owner.

SUMI is a technology company founded by locals in St. Kitts & Nevis. We are strategically launching multiple cross-sector projects, initially focusing on on-demand rides and food delivery services. As long as you believe you can learn quickly, stay incredibly consistent, and are open to passive learning, you might be exactly who we are looking for.

Who You Are

  • Homebody: You genuinely enjoy working from a comfortable home environment and possess the self-discipline to stay focused without constant supervision. You understand that "work from home" means professional productivity, not just comfort, and that the blurred lines between work and personal life may sometimes mean working longer hours—but in a relaxed setting with less demanding work.
  • Insatiably Inquisitive: This is non-negotiable. You ask "why"—you love to learn on your own—and you deconstruct complex problems to find innovative and efficient solutions.
  • A Master Communicator: You are extremely proficient in English (bonus points for Spanish or other languages). You can distill messy ideas into clear, sharp communication for the team, our clients, and our customers.
  • Tech-Fluent & Creative: You don't need to be a master at everything, but you must be comfortable navigating tech, trying your hand at social media, or directing a quick video. You jump in and figure it out.
  • Eye for Design: You have a natural sense of aesthetics and an obsession with clarity. You quickly spot typos, inconsistent branding, or clunky layouts. You understand that great design is not just about looks; it's about making things intuitive and delightful for the user, whether it's a social media graphic or a new app screen.
  • Research Oriented: You possess a deep curiosity and dedication to continuous learning, regularly seeking knowledge through various channels—videos, books, articles, Google, or conversations with AI. Crucially, you must genuinely enjoy "understanding", meaning you instinctively try to grasp topics on a deep, intuitive level rather than merely memorizing facts for later recall.
  • Empathetic & Grounded: You love to read, enjoy strange and fascinating discussions, and naturally know how to treat both customers and staff with genuine kindness.
  • An "Owner" at Heart: You treat the company's bottlenecks as your own. You have a bias for action—preferring to launch, test, and learn rather than waiting for perfection.

What You Will Do

  • Be Fluid, Adaptive, and Work in Uncertainty: Your day-to-day tasks will be dynamic and subject to change based on the immediate needs of the business. While there are standard routine operations that must be completed consistently, a key part of your role will be actively working with the founder to automate and streamline these tasks—and we encourage using custom internal tools and efficient external platforms to "cheat" and simplify heavy lifting, rather than relying on brute force manual effort.
  • Hands-On Operations: You will be in the trenches making the business run. Expect to manage our social media, dispatch and coordinate with drivers, handle customer inquiries, and build relationships with restaurant owners.
  • Connect Strategy to Reality: You will help define what success looks like and use real data to make decisions, balancing the needs of our consumers, merchants, and couriers.
  • Navigate the Chaos: Startups are messy. You will build processes and frameworks that solve today's problems while preparing us for 10x growth, pivoting quickly when needed.
  • Manage Up (Keep the Founder in Check): We need someone with low ego but radical candor. The founder is young, ambitious, and aware of their own blind spots. Your job is to put the business first, even if it means telling the owner they are wrong. (Note: We have a secondary advisory board to ensure you are fully supported and protected when keeping the founder on track!)

The Deal

  • Compensation: EC$2000/month to start, with pay increasing directly as the company grows.
  • Living Arrangement: A shared apartment/home is provided. You will have your own personal bedroom and bathroom, sharing only the kitchen and living room with the owner.
  • Hours: Non-standard and longer than a typical 9-to-5, but significantly less intensive. Why? Because we build custom internal tools to automate the heavy lifting and make your life easier. We work when the inspiration hits and the business demands it.
