The incumbent strengthens agricultural producer organizations by improving governance and formalization, facilitating training in best practices, and infrastructure management to increase productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and boost sales.

 

Job Description:

5% Diagnosing the organizational maturity of OPAs (governance, roles, record keeping, transparency).

  • Number of diagnosed takeover bids;
  • Number of active producers supported / targeted (≥500).

10% Support the formalization (statutes, regulations, registers, simple policies: cash management, inventory, equipment security).

  • The capabilities of the OPAs are strengthened;
  • Active producers are supported;

5% Facilitate networking (takeover bids–takeover bids, takeover bids–buyers, takeover bids–input suppliers, takeover bids–financial institutions).

  • A good network of takeover bids and financial institutions is created;
  • Producers, input suppliers and buyers are networked.

10% Form the committees (executive office, quality commissions, infrastructure management committees).

  • The OPA committees are formed and revitalized;
  • At least one visit per month is carried out within the OPAs.

10% Conducting/Co-facilitating mobile training sessions: technical itineraries, good agricultural practices, integrated pest management, water management, soil nutrition.

  • The number of OPAs with basic tools (member register, meeting minutes, cash register, inventory).
  • The number of OPAs with an operational management committee for infrastructure

Disseminate post-harvest advice: sorting/calibration, packaging, hygiene/quality, storage.

Support campaign planning (crop calendar, inputs, costs, target volumes).

Ensure the adoption of practices through demonstrations.

  • The number of people trained in good agricultural practices
  • The number of people adopting good practices

5% Training the madan sara and other local intermediaries: negotiation, quality, simple standards, margin calculation, hygiene practices.

  • The number of training sessions held (producers / madan sara).

5% Organising mini agricultural fairs / farmers' markets: identification of buyers, logistics, visibility, simple traceability (number of transactions, volumes, prices).

  • Number of mini-fairs organized; # buyers mobilized;
  • Adoption rate of improved practices (% producers applying ≥2 key practices).

5% Supporting business relationship building (simple contracts, letters of intent, delivery schedule).

  • Estimated reduction in post-harvest losses (%) per OPA/chain.
  • The number of people adopting good practices

10% Working together with the engineer to facilitate the construction and training for the management of aggregation/marketing infrastructure (collection centers, sorting areas).

  • Volumes traded via OPA (tonnes); sales value (HTG/USD).

5% Supervise and support the commissioning of processing units (small-scale agri-food processing): basic procedures (hygiene, quality, maintenance).

  • The number of people adopting good practices
  • Number of people trained in post-harvest management adopting good practices

5% Working in coordination with the engineer to facilitate the construction/management of storage warehouses: ventilation, palletizing, combating post-harvest losses.

  • Number of functional infrastructures built/rehabilitated (aggregation centers, warehouses, transformation units) (%).

5% Supporting community accountability (complaints/feedback mechanisms) and the sharing of results " sa te chanje gras a nou ".

  • Rate of data update within deadlines (%).
  • Number of feedback/COMPLAINTS received & processed; average processing time.
  • Zero incidents of non-compliance with safeguard policies (or % of incidents reported and escalated according to procedure, 100%).

 

Required Professional Experience

  • At least NS2/Secondary, training in agricultural technology a plus.
  • Experience: 2–3 years in agricultural/community support , peasant organization, value chains, post-harvest, market access.
  • Knowledge of technical processes (local crops), post-harvest, marketing.
  • Concepts in association governance, basic management (cash/inventory), food security/nutrition.
  • Proficiency in mobile data collection tools (phone/tablet) and reporting tools (Excel/Sheets).

 

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • Certificate in agricultural techniques or community animation

 

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in a similar or related field. Computer skills are an asset.
