The incumbent provides secretarial and administrative support to enhance the work of the Office of the General Counsel and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Department.

 

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

  • CPS with 5 GCE/CXCs including English Language and Mathematics and 4 years’ experience in a similar position, or
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent with five (5) to 7(seven) years of experience in a similar position
  • Para-Legal Certificate
  • Sound knowledge of administrative and office procedures
  • Sound knowledge of File Management, document control and records management techniques
  • Sound knowledge of Conveyancing
  • Knowledge of the preparation and formatting of legal correspondence, reports and other legal documents;
  • Knowledge of meeting administration, including the scheduling, coordination and documentation of meetings.

 

Required Skills and Specialized Techniques

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Expert typing and speedwriting skills
  • Sound minute taking and minute preparation skills
  • Strong telephone etiquette and professional communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide effective administrative and secretarial support to Attorneys and the wider Legal Department;
