Health & Nutrition Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the overall technical coordination of the project's nutrition activities and guarantee the effective integration of interventions with the health, food security, WASH, and protection components. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), the Departmental Directorates of Health (DDS), health facilities, and key partners.
• Nutritional interventions are harmonized, well coordinated and implemented in accordance with national protocols and project objectives.
• Supervise the implementation of activities for the prevention and management of moderate and severe acute malnutrition, including community screening, mobile clinics, home visits, cooking demonstrations and behavior change activities.
• The targeted beneficiaries have access to quality nutritional services and the project indicators are met.
• Provide management, guidance, and capacity building for Nutrition Officers, community health workers, mother leaders, volunteers, and other project stakeholders. Develop supervision plans and implement an ongoing mentoring system.
• The staff has the necessary technical skills and the activities are carried out in accordance with established quality standards.
• Monitor performance indicators, analyze nutritional data, and coordinate monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities. Identify performance gaps and propose corrective actions.
• The data is reliable, regularly analyzed and used to guide decision-making and improve project results.
• Prepare, consolidate and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports related to nutrition activities. Contribute to the preparation of reports for donors, audits and external evaluations.
• The reports are produced on time, meet quality requirements and facilitate accountability to stakeholders.
• Ensure the operational and budgetary planning of nutritional activities. Monitor the use of project resources and ensure compliance with the organization's financial, administrative and logistical procedures.
• Resources are used efficiently and in accordance with institutional policies and donor requirements.
• Identify operational challenges, programmatic risks, and opportunities for improvement. Represent the project in technical working groups, sector meetings, and coordination platforms.
• The risks are mitigated, the innovations are documented, and the project's visibility is enhanced among partners.

Required Professional Experience

• Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and information management systems (MIS).
• Solid experience in managing and coordinating community and clinical nutrition programs.
• Good knowledge of national protocols for the management of MAM and MAS.
• Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with health authorities and local organizations.
• Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent ability to write technical and programmatic reports.
• Experience in monitoring indicators, data analysis and quality assurance.
• Good ability to conduct training and mentoring.
• High sense of responsibility, leadership and professional ethics.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

• University degree in nutrition, public health, nursing or related field recognized by the MSPP.
•  Additional training in community nutrition or health program management is desirable.
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in nutrition or public health programs.
•  Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or coordination role.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

• Perfect command of French and Creole, both spoken and written.
• Good knowledge of the Haitian health system and humanitarian actors.
• Experience working with national or international NGOs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team.
• Experience in projects funded by institutional donors.
• Strong negotiation and institutional representation skills.
• Availability for frequent travel to intervention areas.

Physical Requirements

• Be prepared to work under pressure and in an unstable environment, several days a week in the field and in difficult conditions.

Language Requirements

• Fluency in spoken and written French, English desirable.

Writing skills

• Excellent command of French and Creole
• Have at least 4 years of experience in a nutrition program
• Work experience in NGOs
