Health & Nutrition Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the staff of the DDS (Departmental Health Directorate) of the municipality and developing partnerships with local authorities and managers of health centers and hospitals for the identification and monitoring of children with nutritional problems.
• Protocols are signed with DDS officials, health centers, and hospitals. Steps are taken with local authorities to facilitate the implementation of the project in the targeted municipalities.
• Ensuring access to basic services for children under five and pregnant and breastfeeding women (mobile clinics, screening and management of MAM and MAS, deworming, home visits, mothers' clubs, nutritional demonstration home, etc.)
• Children aged 0-5 have access to basic health services  
• To support, guide and coordinate health workers, mother leaders and volunteers in carrying out the activities planned in the preparation and consolidation of the work plan.
• Health workers, mother leaders and volunteers perform their work effectively and the consolidated work plan is periodically submitted to the Project Manager.
• Plan and coordinate the delivery of community services in accordance with the MSPP guidelines formulated in the malnutrition management protocol manual.
• Conduct regular field visits to all project intervention areas.
• Community services are delivered according to the project action plan and in accordance with the guidelines of the MSPP.
• Prepare and submit a monthly report focusing on progress and constraints to project implementation.
• Prepare and submit quarterly and annual reports (data, success stories…) produced according to the Child Survival activities selected for the municipalities for which he/she is responsible.
• A monthly report highlighting the progress and constraints of project implementation is submitted.
• Quarterly and annual reports are submitted regularly and in the required formats with the project indicator table.
• Mobilize project agents in the field to organize training in mastering know-how through mentoring and support.
• Good capacity building for staff in complementary activities.
• Ensure that project assets, such as resources, are managed effectively according to standards. 
• Inform the project manager of any difficulties encountered and communicate with the region for the necessary support.
• Compliance with standards to avoid audit findings
• Effective communication between team members and the management team 

Required Professional Experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and understanding of Information Systems (MIS).
• Proficiency in Creole, proficiency in written and spoken French
• Good ability to present technical content in French and Creole; didactic skills, clarity, and patience.
• Good knowledge of local stakeholders
• Excellent writing skills
• Monitoring of project activities quantitatively and qualitatively;
• Good analytical and synthesis skills
• Documentation of stories and lessons learned;
• Have a sense of responsibility

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

• University degree in nursing from a school recognized by the MSPP and licensed
•   At least 2 years of experience in a nutrition program

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

• To speak and write French and Creole perfectly
• Planning capacity
• Be willing to travel frequently to project intervention areas
• Possess strong leadership skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Be prepared to work under pressure and in an unstable environment, several days a week in the field and in difficult conditions.

Language Requirements

• Fluency in spoken and written French, English desirable.
• Writing skills;
• Excellent command of French and Creole
