IDB Invest is establishing a Talent Pool of highly qualified Legal Senior Associates or Officers to support current and future business needs.

 

 

About this Talent Pool

The ideal talent should have experience or be interested in providing legal advice and transaction support for the institution’s investment and financing activities, ensuring that operations are structured, documented, and executed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies.

 

What you might do:

Provide legal advice and support across the full lifecycle of non-sovereign guaranteed (NSG) lending, guarantee, and technical cooperation transactions, including origination, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, documentation, closing, disbursement, and portfolio administration. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective deal execution, contribute to the development of legal documentation and policies, identify practical and innovative legal solutions, support knowledge sharing and training initiatives, and coordinate external counsel while maintaining awareness of evolving legal and market trends.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Law (e.g., Juris Doctor, LL.M., or equivalent) from an accredited university, plus admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction of an IDB Invest member country. Knowledge and substantive legal experience in both Civil and Common law systems. 
  • Experience: 3-4 years of relevant professional legal experience as an attorney since earning a law degree. 
  • Languages: Proficiency in English, spoken and written, is required. Spanish, Portuguese or French would be a plus.
