The incumbent supports kitchen and banquet operations by supervising stewards, maintaining sanitation and equipment, assisting food service staff, ensuring safety and compliance, and upholding professional service standards.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

Operational Responsibilities

  • Directs and assists Stewards to ensure efficient clean-up.
  • Monitors and documents water temperature and chemical levels.
  • Assists with banquet plate-ups, food preparation, and providing cooks with needed items.
  • Supports banquet and buffet operations by transporting and maintaining stock.
  • Operates and maintains cleaning equipment (dishwasher, pot-scrubbing station, trash compactor, etc.).
  • Returns cleaned items to proper storage locations.

Supervisory & Staff Support

  • Assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and disciplining employees.
  • Provides coaching, motivation, and support to staff.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensures compliance with company, safety, and security policies.
  • Reports accidents or unsafe conditions; completes safety training and certifications.
  • Maintains confidentiality and protects company assets.

Guest Service & Professionalism

  • Upholds professional appearance and conduct standards.
  • Greets and assists guests according to company standards.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally.

Teamwork & Quality Assurance

  • Builds positive working relationships to support team goals.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and service expectations.

Physical Requirements

  • Moves, lifts, carries, and pushes up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Performs tasks involving bending, twisting, stooping, and moving across uneven/slippery surfaces.
  • Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

Other

  • Performs additional job duties as requested by supervisors.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
