The Lecturer in Radiology will teach and supervise postgraduate students, conduct research, and support university assessments. Requires a DM in Radiology, 4+ years of experience, and proficiency in medical education and online teaching tools.

 

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must possess at minimum: 

  • A Doctor of Medicine (DM) from a recognized university in Radiology 

OR 

  • FRCR with one of the following: 
    • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
    • Board Certified Radiologist certified by the American Board of Radiology
    • Another postgraduate degree in Radiology from an approved and accredited university/institution

 

Candidates should also possess:

  • At least four (4) years clinical experience (after graduation) from MBBS or equivalent
  • Ability to guide and provide clinical supervision of postgraduate students

 

The following would be considered an advantage:

  • Good record of research and publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals
  • Proficiency in clinical audit and research skills
  • Ability to support university assessment and examinations activities

 

The following would be considered assets:

  • Degree or Certificate in Medical Education
  • Certificate in university teaching and learning
  • Subspecialty training in Radiology
  • At least two (2) years’ postgraduate teaching experience
  • Successful award of grant as a Principal Investigator (PI) or member of a team
  • At least two (2) years clinical experience at consultant level 
  • Candidates must be registered or able to be registered as a specialist in Radiology with the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago (MBTT).

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching and providing clinical supervision of postgraduate students
  • Supervising postgraduate research projects
  • Teaching of Radiology for the MBBS degree and the DM Radiology programmes via online and face to face modes
  • Supporting University assessment and examinations activities

  • Be able to use teaching aids such as PowerPoint presentations 

 

Annual Salary Range

  • Lecturer (Medical):  
  • Minimum: TTS259,668.00 per annum  
  • Maximum: TTS340,164.00 per annum  

 

Benefits

  • Special Allowance: 6% of basic salary.  
  • Transportation Allowance: TTS3,250.00 per month.  
  • Relocation Support (for candidates recruited outside Trinidad & Tobago):  
    • Up to five (5) economy class passages.  
    • Baggage allowance of US$3,000.00 (or TTS equivalent) on appointment and normal termination.  
  • Housing Options:  
    • Unfurnished accommodation at 10% of basic salary.  
    • Furnished accommodation at 12.5% of basic salary.  
    • OR Housing allowance of 20% of basic salary for staff making their own arrangements.  
  • Retirement Contribution: UWI contributes 10% of basic salary to the Superannuation Scheme.  
  • Annual Study and Travel Grant: TTS24,548.00 per annum (available after the first year of service).  
  • Institutional Visit Allowance: TTS7,200.00 per annum (available after the first year of service).  
  • Book Grant: TTS6,000.00 per annum.  
  • Health Insurance: 50% contributory coverage.  
  • Group Life Insurance Scheme.

  • The salary and benefits are subject to the University’s Charter, Statutes, and Regulations.  
  • Candidates recruited internationally receive additional relocation support (passages and baggage allowance).
