Medical Imaging Practitioner (HPC/MIP 1) - May Pen Hospital

Qualifications & Experience:

• First degree in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent 
• Registration with the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM)
• Completion of the Internship Programme 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written format. 
• Good interpersonal relations skills 
• Good customer service skills 
• Sound integrity, ethics in performance of duties 
• Excellent use of Information, Communication & Technology 
• Knowledge of the Performance Management Appraisal System 
• Knowledge of MyHR+ 
• Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Performs general radiography and other imaging procedures according to acceptable International standards, as directed by protocol and as per medical requisition.
• Performs emergency radiography outside of normal working hours. 
• Performs bedside and operative radiography, in consult with senior radiographer, using prescribed protocols. 
• Manages imaging examinations in accordance with approved patient care procedures.
• Manipulates imaging equipment using electrical factors in accordance with radiation safety regulations. 
• Assists in monitoring imaging end products to assure compliance with standard protocol.
• Maintains assigned work area in an attractive and sanitary manner. 
• Maintains good interpersonal relations with staff, patients and other members of the healthcare team. 
• Performs any other duties within the span of control of the post and as determined by the exigencies of the service.
