AVP, People & Culture

Reporting to the VP, HR, the AVP, People & Culture will be responsible for managing and coordinating activities to support and champion meaningful experiences throughout the employee lifecycle process to attract, recruit, onboard, develop and retain talent both in Cayman and the Bahamas.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with the AVP, Operations to maintain effective programs for retention and promotion planning for the Cayman and Bahamas operation
  • Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench strength
  • Serve as a business partner with hiring managers to develop effective sourcing and recruitment strategies that result in client satisfaction. Develop effective relationships within the organization and the community to have influence and impact the recruiting process and hiring
  • Provide support to management on matters of reinforcing culture, setting goals, developing policy, and implementing strategic objectives
  • Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, including current job descriptions, standards of performance and the performance evaluation process
  • Provide direction to assigned employees in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities in achieving strategic and operating plan goals
  • Responsible for tracking, analyzing and reporting with recommendations and action steps on relevant HR metrics to monitor and gauge progress and success  
  • Provide assistance on projects and new initiatives
  • Ensure that the organization develops a high-performing, mission-driven culture by strategically gauging staff morale, addressing organizational issues while providing HR solutions and increasing organizational effectiveness and health, through planned interventions in the organization's processes
  • Develop programs to enhance employee relations and engagement
  • Develop, initiate and maintain effective programs for workforce retention, promotion and succession planning
  • Oversees talent management, including staff training and leadership development, retention, recognition, employee communication and career development
  • In collaboration with the Business Heads, research and assist in the development of training programs that focus on enabling the workforce to achieve improvements with priority organizational concerns
  • Play an active role in Group initiatives and projects, driving initiatives forward and supporting as needed;
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze and present survey results on key themes/trends including recommendations and action plans
  • Contributing to team effort by delivering on parts of the local HR Operational Plan and accomplish overall team related results as required.

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • 7-10 years of broad professional HR experience in all aspects of human resource management
  • Senior human resources certification (SPHR or equivalent) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Recent experience recruiting in multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for leadership positions
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover recruitment, performance management, talent development, coaching, data analytics and relationship management
  • Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various employment reports
  • Experience in all areas of sourcing such as the internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings, as well as conducting career fairs
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic groups
  • Current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources
  • Proficiency in business and human resources related computer applications, which will include talent management systems, time, and attendance systems, etc.
